Actually, it was a big engine in a very light body. It didn’t take a lot of mods to make them run quite strong. It never will hook-up very well, but are still fun to drive when modded. A decent 4 barrel carb and intake, a set of headers and large pipes, and a distributor is all you needed, for a large gain over stock. If you want anything past that, it takes a lot of coin, because the trans and rear end wont hold up, and the engine is just a sloppy old 302. The brakes weren’t great, and the wheels are four lug. So either get one for a toy, or plan to spend a lot for a racecar.
